Introducing 'Stone' from Little Greene

'Stone' is a new, versatile colour palette of natural paint colours from Little Greene. It's been developed in collaboration with the National Trust, Europe's largest conservation charity.
We're delighted to introduce a timeless new paint colour palette from Little Greene, which revolves around the growing trend for warm neutrals. This collection, designed in association with The National Trust, comprises 36 natural stone colours, each with an interesting origin and a definitive place within contemporary interior design. All shades in the 'Stone' range provide a sense of warmth, harmony and tranquility.
The inspiration for 'Stone’ comes from both grand and humble historical buildings. We've included some interesting examples below, starting with a deep and earthy red, ‘Arras’ (left pic). This colour is featured on a tapestry from the chapel at Hardwick Hall, one of the grandest Elizabethan buildings in England, while 'Nether Red' (right pic) is derived from the muddy red found in the bare sandstone walls of Nether Alderley Mill, a centuries-old traditional flour mill.

‘Book Room Green’ (left pic) is a soft, neutral green first specified as a foil to fine plasterwork and shelving in the neoclassical Book Room at Wimpole Hall, at the turn of the 19th century. Green Stone (right pic) takes its inspiration from the ancient colour 'Green Earth; a shade used in early Roman frescos.

Portland Stone (the main wall colour in the left pic) is actually an existing colour from the Little Greene archives. A warm putty colour, popular for the front of Victorian terraces, this shade been matched to a sample of original Portland Stone. Travertine (right pic), is a gorgeous, cosy neutral used on the walls of the resplendent Staircase Hall at Basildon Park.
